Insulating your home

There are many reasons to insulate your loft. Firstly, insulating your loft is a simple and effective way to reduce heat loss and keep your home warmer. In addition to this it reduces your heating bills and helps you save money! Loft insulation is effective for at least 40 years and it should pay for itself over and over. A quarter of heat is lost through your roof as heat rises, and if you don't insulate your loft, 25% of your heat goes straight out of your roof. This increases energy bills significantly.

Let Loft Solutions North Wales Ltd help keep your home warmer and energy bills down!

Using Insulation Effectively

Loft Insulation works by creating a barrier to the hot air which is rising from the lower levels of your house towards the roof. In the UK the minimum Government recommended insulation depth is 270mm (11”) and many houses have more than that. However, that’s much higher than your loft joists, which are generally only 100mm or less. Insulation works through the trapped air inside it, hence, it is important not to squash it so that it works effectively. Nevertheless, people are still using their lofts for storage even though there lofts are insulated. Most people are unaware that squashing insulation reduces its efficiency. That’s why we use LoftZone Storefloor system, which solves the problem of how to use an insulated loft for storage and access.
